JohnR48 Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 When cutting out the heavier lines of the pattern below, would you cut out the entire line or just make one pass? Thanks in advance citizens of the village. Quote
LarryEA Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 The heavier the line, the more definition of the main subject you cut. The dress (night coat) and hat need to be cut on the outer edges of the black. As you said it: cut out the entire line !!!! Quote
New Guy Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) You could use a little larger blade in the areas you think need to be heavier. I used the same blade for the whole pattern, Edited October 27, 2015 by New Guy Quote
WayneMahler Posted October 26, 2015 Report Posted October 26, 2015 On a pattern like this, I cut the black out. So if it has a heavy line it all goes. Lucky2 1 Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 I have cut this pattern using a 2/0 new spiral from FD....Made one pass , or on real heavy lines ran the blade back thru like sand paper.......works for me.......like that pattern a lot , it is hanging in my Granddaughters room ! JohnR48 Posted October 27, 2015 Author Report Posted October 27, 2015 Thanks Steve and Wayne for clearing this up for me. It's on its way to my grand daughter, when I get it done. Quote
woodduck Posted October 27, 2015 Report Posted October 27, 2015 This has also been helpful for me also as I am cutting the same pattern at the moment for my Granddaughter & I am cutting out the entire line. Quote

Lucky2 Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I always remove all of the printed line also, sometimes it takes more than one pass with the blade. Len Quote
MrsN Posted October 28, 2015 Report Posted October 28, 2015 I cut all the way around to remove all of the black lines. I don't really enjoy doing veining (single line) cuts. keefie 1 Quote
