Just curious how many of you have this? It is a lot of money to drop. I want to start making bowls and think it is a must.I have the flex shaft for my Dremel. But would I be able to use this inflatable ball in my Dremel? Any advise is much appreciated.http://www.woodworkingshop.com/product/kx11340/#.Vjt5bcvTnqA

Karl, the answer to your question is, no you can't use this inflatable ball on your Dremel tool the shaft is to large. I own a couple of round ball sanders, that do a great job of finishing and sanding. I have never come acrossed any inflatable attachments, for the regular Dremel tool.

If you don't want to drop that much cash here a a couple of alternatives. I have the first one and it does a great job. The second one I have not used.

Do you use the inflatable sanding ball with these? Or Do HF have their own brand? Thanks

Karl, have dreamed of that but what I have done is bought the inflatable dome ball with 3-4 varied grit sand paper to go on it years ago. I have been able to chuck in into my bench tope drill press and it does work well. My only problem is that the ball decreases in air a little and the sleeve will come off easier. I just finished doing some little bowls for candy in shape of a holly leaf for Christmas and they do work well. And no the will not fit in the dremel I tried it but no way.

I have made over 25 bowls and you do not require this expansive tool, you can get the ball sander at Lee Valley Tools: http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=56679&cat=1,42500,42504

I also use this sander   http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=49254&cat=1,42500

and I also have this one which I used to sand the bowls after initial cutting;  http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=45190&cat=1,290,42500,42504,45190

Also I order the small ball sanding tool from King Arthur tool  :   http://www.katools.com/shop/guinevere-small-round-sander-p-212.html

With all these you can make nice  bowls that nobody will think that you can do on a scroll saw.
