Hello All. I am new to scrolling and to the village so my question quotient will be high.  I love the work I have seen on here and hope to be able to do as well sometime.  I am recently retired and needed to do something to get out of my wife's hair.  I spent the summer repairing an old barn/workshop and I was able to pick up a Wen 16" scrollsaw to do something over the colder months.  I found that I really like it and now want to get more involved.  I am looking to learn from everyone here.  Thanks for having me.

JIm, WELCOME! Scrolling is a fun hobby and the Village just adds to this enjoyment.

Stick around and ask all the questions you have. You will get answers.

Post a few pictures, your scrolls, your shop, your dog and cat. These help identify you and what you like.

Glad to have you.

Oh, yea, tell me where in Pa you live.

Jim,  Welcome to our large and friendly family of global scrollers.  My suggestion to you would be to not try to do very complicated patterns in the beginning. Just have fun and then you won't get discouraged with it. It is a fun and interesting hobby that I too took up after I retired and I will continue to cut as long as I am able. Log on often and make comments on other posts as well as make posts of your own. Show us your work, we love to see what others are up to. There are a lot of very talented people here and so much scroll saw knowledge that one might think it was invented here. Then there are the ever learning and sometimes. struggling ones, in which category I am in.We all learn and get encouraged by one another. Hope to see you around a lot so I can get to know you better

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I am really looking forward to seeing some nice projects on here.  I guess i will have to post some pictures of my sawdust as soon as I figure out how to.
