Fish Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 I had found this picture on Wikimedia Commons. I had thought this was a picture of a North American Indian. I found that she is actually from Chinese and Philippines ancestry. The Spanish used the term Mestizo De Sangley to refer to refer to a person of mixed Chinese and Philippine ancestry. The original picture was taken by Francisco Van Camp in 1875. It can be found on Wikipedia under the title, Sangley. Another interesting person- hope you like it.
