spoth28
So I have a craft show Feb 6 and am almost completely out of wood! I have looked all over the internet (www.wooddealonline.com, Amazon, eBay, etc.) And haven't found any wood less than $1 a piece. Does anyone know of any good online sales of wood? Thanks! P.s. I say online because I can't drive yet. wombatie and LarryEA
LarryEA
Josh, do a search in General SCrollsawing for "Wood Sources" Maybe you will find something there. spoth28

WayneMahler
Josh Try craigslist under free. Sometimes you can find stuff there. Pallet wood, old furniture and the like. spoth28 and oldhudson

DWSUDEKUM
Josh if you can talk your parents into going to Home Depot, Lowes they sometimes have cutoffs that are being thrown away. Another source of wood is pallets, old cabinet doors, extra flooring a lot of this can be had for nothing or very little. Jim Finn
Your local hobby shop may have it. Aircraft plywood. Not cheap though. spoth28
ChelCass
Also try lumber yards that sell flooring. I got some discontinued sample that scrolled up beautifully. Is any construction going on in your area.................great source for scraps of wood as they just burn the scrap. Put the word out at school, church, post notices at grocery stores. Any Amish in your area, they always have scrap wood and a lot of it is free. Good luck! spoth28
kywoodmaster
Good luck on the search. Might try Sloan's wood shop. They have reasonable prices. Hard to get anything for a buck anymore. spoth28
Sparkey
If you go to Lowe's or Home Depot you can get a 4 by 8 sheet of 1/4 inch plywood for $19. That will give you 32 pieces 12 by 12. I have them rip it down to 1 foot by 4 foot pieces then I cut them down to what I want from there. spoth28
