bandaideman
I am not going to wait until dawn so look over your shoulder. sorry haven't seen a lot about the machines and who is best. I met a guy down the road a few years ago and he had one he enjoyed not sure who made it. I don't do much looking at them because I am a hobbyist and don't get an income that warrants buying one so not paying attention to what is best. Sorry. Certainly would be fun but too costly of a toy for me.
WayneMahler
With so many now on the market it would be hard to say. I wouldn't spend that much on a toy. Best of luck in your search.

Lucky2
I was seriously looking into buying one, I didn't pick what brand I wanted or know if I was going to build one on my own. There was a lot of discussion on them over at the Sawmill Creek site, you might want to check them out. Len

Scrappile
There is quite a bit of discussion of them on the "Family Woodworking Forum" also. So much so they started a whole new section related to them. http://familywoodworking.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?64-Computer-Aided-Equipment-Area
Travis
I have one. I bought the XCarve, which is a DIY kit you have to put together. It's not too hard to assemble, though. It's a lot of fun. I just need more time to play with it. I upgraded the spindle to the DeWal 611, which I recommend. One thing to keep in mind, though...CNCs are pretty slow. You can cut something out in the traditional way in 1/4 the time. The only real advantage is precision and being able to do other stuff while the machine works. I like it because it combines my creative side with my technical side. Lots of fun. Forester
oldhudson
You can purchase one and use it but please don't go to craft fairs and advertise your work as 'hand made'. Edited December 1, 2015 by oldhudson
