This is a Christmas present for my son and daughter-in-law. Made from 1/2 inch ash, very hard. It's waiting to be finished but I think it's coming out pretty good. I will use a black backer. Thanks for looking.

 

Oh, I tried the script "a" two different ways. I definitely like the "a" in Jasmine better than the one in Matthew.

Well done!  I would think ash would be hard.  I like aspen or soft maple as they both are light colored and nice to cut.  Guess I am going to have to break down and learn to do this, maybe this winter when the snow blows and is too cold for the shop.
