oneleggimp
I have looked long and hard at the drawings of both blades and their specs and I can't see any substantive difference. I know a lot of you folks like the UR blade. Does anyone know what the real difference between the two blades is and why you should choose one over the other. Inquiring minds want to know.l
fredfret
Two way cut (Crown Tooth) have 2 teeth up and two down making it reversable. Ultra reverse have 2 down and 1 up making it a one way blade with a reverse tooth. Fredfret Wichita, Ks
WayneMahler
Pretty much what Fred said. I have in the past used the crown tooth blades. I moved to the ultra reverse because i liked the way the handled better. This is just my personal preference. tomsteve
Scrolling Steve
Like Waye has said the UR seem to handle better for me...and it is really neat that the top of the blade is marked !

ike
I have used both rev. and crown saw blades. both by Olson I use the crown cut blades on thicker stock 3/4 and larger. With olson's blades I don't have to sand the ends and use alcohol I used Olson right out of the container. and they don't rust even over the winter.. other than that there isn't enough difference I get about 1 hour out of each

Lucky2
With the Ultra Reverse blades you should only cut with one specific end in the down position. Because, the tooth pattern only goes so far up the blade. Whereas with the Crown tooth type of blades, you can install either end in the up/down position and the blade still cuts the way it's supposed to. And, that is because the tooth pattern is repeated along the length of the blade. So, with the crown tooth blades, you could get twice as much cutting done with one blade supposedly. Of course, that all depends on if you break the blade before you flip it over. Len
Stephen_M
I bought a pack of blades for $3.00. I read where someone wrote that a scroll saw blade should last around an hour. Is that true? I'm trying to find the size of a hex wrench that I can use to adjust my set screws. Anyone know the size that would be used on the DW 788? NC Scroller
I have used a number of brands and styles of blades and never got a hour of use out of any. I cut hardwood, softwood and plywood. Best I get is 20 - 30 minutes.
