Hello, I'm a new member from Palm Springs, Ca. - thought an introduction was proper.

First of all I'd like to thank the site administrators and members for all their contributions to this community. It is obvious in the short time I've been here that there is an abundance of talent and helpful folks willing to unselfishly share their love of scrolling. I hope one day I can contribute as well.

How I got here..... ??  A few months ago I found a 16" (or so) Ryobi scroll saw at a garage sale at a price that I thought was fair. I brought it home and played with it briefly but never really connected with the saw.  It sat on my shelf mostly unused as my initial enthusiasm waned.   Fast forward a couple of months when my buddy spotted it on my shelf - I sold it to him.  Yea!

Despite having no saw, a little flame for scrolling remained in my heart.  Then, last week I was looking in the local Craigslist and spotted a Dewalt and decided there must be a reason for this coincidence. I ended up buying it and here I am.

I'll post a pic and some additional details later but for now, thanks for having me!

Hey Daniel, welcome!

You gotta get started and cut that first piece with the Dewalt.

There are a lot of simple yet great patterns. Crosses, stars and leaves.

I cut a lot of leaves from Oaks, maples, birch and my Wife keeps most of them.

Lots to learn and it is a relaxing, rewarding and enjoyable hobby.

Hi Daniel, welcome to the Village.  I'm Marg from Australia.  I'm going to Palm Springs next April but it will be a whirlwind visit, doing lots of things in 3 weeks.  Any how pull up a chair and make yourself at home.
