Vector01
Hi All: Well it's done. This was a "on the fly" design I thought I would try. The original plan was the ships wheel and the anchor. I happened to watch the "Pirates of the Carribean" one night and thought a ships deck and railings would be an interesting addition. You might wonder if I was on the "sauce" when I mounted the anchor to the deck. Nope...Just thought it would be different. All the parts except the legs where created using inkscape. I cheated and used some mini wooden candle holders from Micheals Craft Store. The pieces were cut from 5/8" Madrone. I applied two coats of Watco dark walnut Danish oil. The oil gave it a nice finish with the appearance of weathered wood. I wasn't quite sure on the top coat. After looking the piece over a few times, I went with three coats of Johnson's paste wax. I think I should have went with a larger clock though. dankc908
Nice - I love the creative way you approached this. I agree with you in that a bigger clock would work very well! Dan

steviegwood
Awesome!!! I just can't get enough of that type of patterns. I don't know why but I have always loved anything to do with old ships and pirates. Is it possible to get a copy of that pattern? Great looking the way it is but I agree a bigger clock may set it off more. Steve

Vector01
Thanks everyone for the great comments. Since this was a design on the go I wasn't quite sure of the outcome. As far as the pattern...If I have some time I might clean it up and add some measurements. It's held together with brass wood screws. I didn't measure anything just eyeballed it and drilled
