ubgoofy2003 Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Finally finished a late request for Christmas from a friend. Had to hurry a little to get it done even now. The friend wanted two portraits of their dogs & one of their cat. I tried, but, just not enough time. She understood that it would take a while to finish & even paid for the portraits before being finished. I did them in 1/4 in. oak ply with the frames of stained pine wood. The backers are of black foam sheets & also did some pyro burn on them. Finally ready for delivery. Thanks for looking. Happy New Year everyone. lawson56, amazingkevin, Dave Monk and 1 other 4 Quote

Dave Monk Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Pardon my ignorance but I am definitely a newby at scrolling. How does a person learn this technique of taking a picture and turning it into a scroll portrait? Your pictures turned out very nice. Dave Quote

Dave Dave, scroll down the "Forum" until you get to the "university" tab and I believe you will find some nice tutorials by Travis using the GIMP program. He does a really good job stepping you through it and if you get stuck you can ask him your questions and he will be happy to explain to you, your problem, and get you back on track. The GIMP program is a very useful and free download. Check it out Dick heppnerguy Quote

ubgoofy2003 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Report Posted December 29, 2015 Thank you all for those kind words. I like to do portraits, both personal & pets. Our friend picked up the portraits today & was real happy with them. I feel good that I got them done close to Christmas. Thanks again. Quote
