wombatie Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 It is 5.35pm New Years Eve here right now and before I leave the Village in 2015 and say See You Next Year, I would like us all to spare a thought and say a prayers for some people that are doing it tough both here and in the UK. Over a here a bush fire became out of control on Christmas Day, hundreds of people were evacuated from there homes before they had Christmas lunch. 116 homes were lost. Hundreds of firemen spent their Christmas fighting the fire. Today in 38degree heat more homes have been evacuated and their home are in serious danger. Those same firemen plus more are spending their New Year fighting the same fire. They are the hero's, the firemen. In the UK they have had massive floods, people evacuated and homes ruined. Their Christmas and New Year spoilt by Mother Nature. The defense forces sent in to help those in need, they are the hero's, who have to put themselves in danger to help Mr & Mrs Average. So before you start to celebrate tonight say a prayer for all the firefighters and all the defense forces everywhere and say a prayer for all the people without homes this New Years Eve. See you all Next Year. Marg ChelCass, bobscroll, DonR and 1 other 4 Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 Happy new year Marg. Perhaps now we could start a £5 disaster donation to our country for a change. we are quick enough to find the money for weapons and other countries, oh I digress and have a very happy new year. Kepy Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 Amen to that Marg. It is tragic when special days are ruined but even worse when people lose everything. We are having flooding issues here with temps below freezing. So far in my state there have been 14 deaths and a lot of people with their homes under water. My sister was evacuated several days ago and is going back today to find out the results. wombatie 1 Quote

ChelCass Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 Thoughts and prayers to all who have been effected by these fires and flood. We here in the U.S.A. have had our share of floods, fires, and killings. It's a very sad world right now and we can only hope and pray it turns around. Hugs to all. wombatie 1 Quote

jamminjack Posted December 31, 2015 Report Posted December 31, 2015 Marge well said. When you here the news of all the devastating floods, fires, shootings, seems the world has gone to hell in a hand bag. Very very sad. So sorry to here about the fires in your area....Hope you and your family are safe. Prayer is a powerful tool to use to help comfort those in need. I wish more people would put their faith in the Lord, all wouldn't seem so desperate. Wishing you and your family and all the SSV family a wonderful and blessed New Year. wombatie 1 Quote
