rdatelle
Well I finally received my Excalibur 21 inch saw around 9pm last night. I stayed up and put the stand together and this morning put the saw on it. Of course I had to try it out. After adjusting blade aliment which was off a little, I started sawing. The saw is very quite and runs very smooth. I figured I would start with something hard like Oak. I cut out a puzzle with a # 3 blade and a #1. Very easy to cut compared to my DeWalt 788. The only thing I don't like to much is the on and off switch which is a little tricky to turn on and off. I just hooked up the foot switch which came with the saw and I will give that a try. The best part is changing the blade and adjusting the tension. Just put the blade in and pull the lever back to lock it and your done. Doesn't get any easier than that. When I'm done with the pieces I did, I'll put a pic of them on. So far I like it very much. It is a big saw. I love mine and I'm sure you will love yours too. Happy scrolling. LarB

Jim Finn
foot switches are nice. I have one on two scroll saws, two stationary belt sanders, one drill press and one band saw. (Wonder if I could use one for the overhead lights?)
Montserrat
Do you guys saw sitting down or standing up? I stand and cannot fathom using the foot switch while standing. What's your opinion/experience?
hotshot
Do you guys saw sitting down or standing up? I stand and cannot fathom using the foot switch while standing. What's your opinion/experience? There is another kind of footswitch that works good for standing. You press once to turn on, and press again to turn off. Some folks even prefer these types for sitting. You can get both types of foot switches pretty cheap at harbor freight. ------Randy Jim Finn

I do not want to have to keep a foot on the floor switch as I saw. When I come near to the end of the cut I depress the switch and when I release it the saw, light and fan ( for blowing dust away) all stop. Scrappile
Congratulations on the saw. You will love it. I read once where a scroller that liked to stand while scrolling, fixed the foot switch where he could operate it with his knee. That would be awkward to me but maybe not. Might be worth a try.
