knucklebuster283
Hello again everyone. ain't been on in awhile. Got laid off a week before Christmas after 10 years of service, and been sick since. I have found another job but starting at the bottom of the ladder over again. Anyway, while I was out, rearranged the garage for wood working. I use to do small engine repair as a side job. Not anymore. Everything is now geared toward scrollin'. Felt pretty good today and got back to scrollin'. The words are a light walnut stain, and the backer board is a dark walnut stain. Thanks for lookin'. heppnerguy
Sorry to hear that you got laid off from your work. It has to be a difficult thing to go through. I hope you are not very old because I have heard of some that have worked for a company for over 30 years and get laid off and then it becomes more difficult to find employment because your age becomes a factor. But the good news is two fold because you not only have found other employment but you have once again gotten engaged with scrolling and what better form of relaxation and enjoyment could you possibly find? I particularity like that you have your concentration on 'family'. It shows me where your heart is. Keep cutting and sharing your things here in The Village where everyone cares about everyone else. I like the font you choose too. Dick heppnerguy
rjR
The best of luck in the future endeavors. Oh, nice work on the scrolling too! Yes, age can be a serious impediment to getting a decent new job too; hope it does not become a factor in your situation.
knucklebuster283
Thanks Dick. I found a picture of that word family just by googling the word family. I then used inkscape to enlarge it. The wife is happy with it. You know the saying " A happy wife happy life" LOL. At ten years shy of retiring, it is somewhat a factor. I did try one job, that has taught me I'm not 25 anymore. But the new job is the same as what I was doing before lay off, just less $ and not so good benefits. But hey life goes on, and I look at it this way, just ten more. Edited January 8, 2016 by knucklebuster283 bobscroll

ike
I have been laid off twice The first time I was 52 tears old ( 27 years with the company) and the second time I was 54 years old . unless the economy is bad a machinist can always find a job in my area. but it is still hard on a person to start at the bottom again. I now am a full time Stroller.
