There is a polka song that has in it's lyrics:

 

"In Heaven there is no beer"

"That's why we drink it here"

 

I am 76 years old and it was already being sung when I was a teenager.  Probably next to impossible to get permission (if I need it) to put this on a pattern.

The Polka may have origins in the inscription over the doorway to the dining hall of a German or Austrian Monastery.

 

Though, if you look at copyright listings is says Ralf Siegel copyrighted it in 1959.   That's a long way from expiring.

Jerry, if it's for self use, I'd go ahead and make the pattern and cut it out. It's a different story, if you want to sell any of them.

OK, I agree with Len, for personal use it's no trouble. You just can't make $1,234,432,973 off of it.

You didn't ask for any financial advice, but I will give you some anyway.  My Sweet Wife and I bought a burial plot & headstone in NE Iowa.  Dumbest investment we ever made.  Not doing us a bit of good.    Learn from our mistake Friend!

or something like that :-)  seriously though, it's not the title of the song correct? I don't see how this would be any different than any of the other "sayings" that are sold.
