rdatelle Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Hi everyone. Well I finally got up the nerve to try this pattern out on my new Excalibur saw. I had the pattern for a couple of months and kept looking at it. It's one of Fish's patterns and it's made out of 1/4 inch B/B. I used a 64 drill bit and #1 blade for the whole thing. I just have to put a frame around it yet because this measures 8 1/2 x 12. There are a couple of minor mistakes but I won't point them out. LOL. Well I hope you all like it and advice is welcome. neptun, Fish, lawson56 and 5 others 8 Quote
FranMike Harley Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Thanks for sharing such a beautiful piece !! Very nicely done indeed.. Was this the first piece you cut with the new saw ? How do you like the Excalibur compared to what you used before ? Quote
rdatelle Posted January 14, 2016 Author Report Posted January 14, 2016 (edited) Mike, This was the first delicate piece I cut with the saw. I did do a fire engine puzzle to. My spare saw now is my DeWalt 788. I have to say, I like this saw a lot better but I did do some great stuff with my 788. This is so quite and the blade change is so easy and quick. penquin Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 That looks wonderful. Great job on it. At 8 1/2 X 12 there had to be some delicate cuts and you did then well. Like the 1/4 inch wood, adds some shadows to it. Thanks a bunch for sharing your work with us. jim penquin Quote
Fish Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Beautiful. Awesome cutting! Fun to see someone else enjoy it. Quote
wombatie Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 You did a great job on the cutting Ralph, I bet even the pattern designer could not pick the mistakes. You said that you find the EX21 blade change easier than the DeWalt, funny I find the DeWalt blade change easier.. We are all different. Marg Quote
Lucky2 Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Nicely done Ralph, it should look fantastic once framed. Len Quote
heppnerguy Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Very nice job. I do not make mistakes when scrolling, I make "pattern modifications". Great answer Paul Also to Ralph, I too have been eyeing this piece to cut. I think I will give it a try with the spiral blade I am trying to learn, when i do give it a go. It looks like a spiral blade pattern to me. Dick heppnerguy Quote

rdatelle Posted January 15, 2016 Author Report Posted January 15, 2016 Dick, the holes are very tiny. Not sure if a spiral blade with fit in the holes. Good luck. Quote
