jerry1939
WOW! For a learner, you are certainly on the right track. If I were to make a humble suggestion, it would be that if you look, most designers put their bridges at the bottom of the islands. In a couple of minutes I will post a new pattern titled; "Religious Word Art" I'm sure the other designers will also try to help you. When designing, deal with frustrations as just a way of life! jerry
jbrowning
Thanks Jerry, I will keep an eye open for your new pattern post. No problem with frustrations for me. I looked at it and it looked like something could be better just can't figure it out. To me the pattern looks very busy...which isn't good to a photographer. Dan
Jim, great start. I like the script font but I would change the positions of the bridges like Jerry suggested. Here's where I would have put the bridges. See the red marks. I would also have made the white space around the script font larger. That makes the script a little more pronounced. Hope this helps. LarryEA
First, Three cheers on doing very good on your first. I'd be pleased if I did that good. Now, two things. 1. What Dan said/did 2. Probably should be posted in "New Patterns"
jbrowning
Thanks Larry, I wasn't sure if my first pattern should be posted in "New Patterns" or not since I am still working and fixing a lot of things. Jim
WayneMahler
Jim Great job on your first pattern. Learning is a very exciting place to be. Congrats on taking the leap. We are start at the beginning. Other then the the bridges, I would widen the names on the sub letters a little bit. Great job. Your definitely on you way

jerry1939
Hi Marg, What do you mean "you don't have the time"? Don't you know the saying; "A woman works from sun to sun, but a man's work is never done". (Or something like that......... jerry
Young_Scroller
for your first pattern that looks really good, Im with dan on the bridges, that usually looks the best so that way the bridges blend in better
