FranMike Harley Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Hi everyone.. Just finished a project.. My Wife loves Hummingbirds and I found this pattern in the "Big Book of Scroll Saw Woodworking" so I figured I'd give it a try.. DWSUDEKUM Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 That is a fun puzzle to do. You did a great job on it. I have a Aunt that is loves her hummers and for her birthday one year I cut her that. Not surprised that your wife will like that as you did a fantastic job on it. Thanks for sharing this with us. Frank Pellow Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Hey that's quite good, and different than anything that I have tried. As a recent scroll-saw hobbyist, I am trying a bit of every different style and technique that I can find. I have put this on my list. Quote

Lucky2 Posted January 21, 2016 Report Posted January 21, 2016 Looks nice Mike, I like how you solved the problem of it always wanting to fall over. I never thought to add another base for the ones I made, I used a separate piece of wood for the bottom piece of the puzzle. It was wider and cut in the shape of the bottom piece of the puzzle, then I had to taper the sides to fit the 3/4" thickness of the rest of the puzzle. I cut the hummer out of 3/8" mahogany and pine for the belly, just for contrast. Len Quote
