That is a fun puzzle to do.  You did a great job on it.  I have a Aunt that is loves her hummers and for her birthday one year I cut her that.  Not surprised that your wife will like that as you did a fantastic job on it.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

That one sold at shows years ago for me but not anymore.

last year folks wanted owls and whales.

the "in" animal changes every year. Wish I could predict what the "in" animal will be for 2016. Any ideas?

Looks nice Mike, I like how you solved the problem of it always wanting to fall over. I never thought to add another base for the ones I made, I used a separate piece of wood for the bottom piece of the puzzle. It was wider and cut in the shape of the bottom piece of the puzzle, then I had to taper the sides to fit the 3/4" thickness of the rest of the puzzle. I cut the hummer out of 3/8" mahogany and pine for the belly, just for contrast.

Hi everyone.. Just finished a project.. My Wife loves Hummingbirds and I found this pattern in the "Big Book of Scroll Saw Woodworking" so I figured I'd give it a try..

First try at a "puzzle" piece..
