Popular Post wombatie Posted January 29, 2016 Popular Post Report Posted January 29, 2016 Last year I mentioned that I wanted some recycled silver then forgot but my eldest daughter didn't, she got got me some for my birthday. Well yesterday I decided to cut it. It is 0.5mm thick and I cut it with 2/0 jewelry blades. The pattern is by our very own Travis. Marg Lucky2, Dan, neptun and 8 others 11 Quote

wombatie Posted January 30, 2016 Author Report Posted January 30, 2016 Nicely done Marg, is this the first metal item you've cut? Len No Len I cut some very very thin aluminum and some brass last year for practice, I wanted to know if I could do it because I wanted to eventually cut silver. I will buy myself some thicker silver next time. Marg Quote
wombatie Posted January 30, 2016 Author Report Posted January 30, 2016 When you say recycled Marg, what was it before or did you melt it down?? Roly Where does one find "recycled" silver. Never heard of that. Recycled silver is made from scraps of silver all melted together and then rolled into sheets. I think they also use old silver (pure) jewelry as well. I have taken a photo of the label that is on the piece that I have so that you can check it out. web address on top right. Marg Phantom Scroller 1 Quote

wombatie Posted January 30, 2016 Author Report Posted January 30, 2016 No Roly it is already melted and rolled you just buy it flat from the sellers. You can buy various thicknesses and size sheets depending on what you want and what you can afford. Check out the web site. Marg Phantom Scroller 1 Quote
