Some of my thinner scraps I have cut in the shape of arrowheads then sanded to make them more realistic looking. Kids love them. You could even turn them into necklaces.

Depends on size of the scrap. If big enough I may use for turning pen, bird house, or some can be cut to size for 3D scrolling. Likt the bird houses  and some of the smaller makes the birds to go on the perch.  pretty thin wood works for book marks, and some pieces may fit in with Intarsia

One man's trash is another man's treasure.

So it it scrap? No way to determine that! without an idea of what it looks like.

I had a relative... in prison, who took 75,000 pieces of 'scrap' and made  "Sidna Allen Masterpiece Table."        post-5492-0-33843700-1454116456_thumb.jpg

Give us a few pictures or describe the scrap.

Charlie181,

Wowee, those walnut scraps are a gold mine! For mini puzzles. Kids love em. Just sand the edges so there are no sharp edges and apply some oil like Danish or Tung oil. Lately I have been using Watco Teak Oil finish as well.

Take a look at Judy Peterson's "Animal Puzzles" book published by Fox Chapel.. Many of my mini puzzles came from patterns in her book - just reduce the size and sometimes reduce the number of pieces.

Ive acquired quite a large pile of scraps and was wondering what your favorite thing to do with them is as Im trying to find a way to get rid of them. Thanks!

I can see a lot of wood turned pens there or little mini crosses, ear rings,  3d ornaments, Mini HUGS, Mini birds houses, Letter openers, wooden keys. Key fobs any shape. Should be enough to start with for you Joe

I'm sorry if I hijacked your thread.

I was trying to figure out what to do with all these pieces of walnut I have this morning. I decided I needed a business card holder lol. I doubt I could make another one since I kinda winged the design. The lid supports the box and raises the cards up so they can be taken easily when on my desk. I need to put another coat on it but I think it turned out good.

These pictures aren't sideways when I view them on my device but there flipped when I made the post. Sorry
