oldhudson Posted January 30, 2016 Report Posted January 30, 2016 This question is for Excalibur owners who use the saw on the stand. For a long time I had a lower end Delta and mounted it to my bench. I put a 2 x 2 under the rear of the saw, tipping the saw towards me. I like that position. Has anyone with an Excalibur and the standard stand done anything to tip the saw? How'd you approach the problem? Any pics to help me? Thanks for reading. amazingkevin 1 Quote
bandaideman Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Berry I do have the stand with Ex21. I am not sure but I thought the feet could be lowered or left high and you could look at that and see if there is an adjustment. My legs aren't working so hot right now or I would get off my bottom and go look. I just thought I had seen it was possible. I will check more later. I used to have the stand set lower in front on my dewalt and when I got the ex 21 i liked that flat so much I changed the dewalt to flat also. oldhudson 1 Quote
NC Scroller Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Yes the EX21 stand does have adjustable feet. oldhudson 1 Quote
firstmuller Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 My EX-21 has adjustable legs but in my shop, I have the back higher because of the way the floor is. Allen Quote
Lucky2 Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Berry, if your stand doesn't have adjustable legs, you could place a 2x2 under the rear of your saw. You will have to drill a couple of holes for the bolts to go through, then just bolt the saw down through the 2x2. Doing this will elevate your saw about 1.5", but you can add more to it to raise it to the height that you want. Len oldhudson 1 Quote
bgloyn Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 the dewalt has more table infront of the blade than the excaluber to make it easier to scroll most people, including myself, raise the rear or lower the front of the saw. I tried tilting my ex when I first set it up but found it easier to use level. Some ex owners have had a new table top machined that is wider and longer in the front which I am interested in as I like the extra support while working. Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 I have a home made dexion metal stand and a block of wood under the back end, works for me. Roly oldhudson and WayneMahler 2 Quote
Scrappile Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 bglon is correct on the table top size, and it really bothered me when I first got the saw, but after I got use to it I don't even notice it any more. There is an alternative to increase the table size that does not require a machine made metal top. I have a piece of 1/8" masonite on top of my existing table. I didn't do it for size but more as a zero clearance hole for the blade to go through and for more support when sawing delicate area on a picture. It really works well and I am thinking I could make a bigger one it I wanted to increase the table top size. Course the hardest part of this is finding a piece of masonite. oldhudson and bgloyn 2 Quote
rdatelle Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 I just got a new Ex21 a couple of months ago. My legs are adjustable but I never thought of tilting it. Both front and back are adjustable to. I'll have to give it a try. Right not I'm sitting on a bar stool which puts me a little higher so I'm looking down on my work. No problem that way yet. Quote

Framer Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 I have my saw raised 3 " in the back . Saves my neck and upper back a lot of stress Quote
Clayton717 Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 I have mine raised in the back as well, just on a bench not on the stand Quote
