heppnerguy Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Here is another pattern by Sue Mey that was in one of her E Books. It is a plaque and has several options for making it. I choose this one just to take a look at the finished project and my wife really liked it and she said that it might make another heart shaped box. Giving that some thought. This is obviously a quick one to cut, only a few minutes but I too like the pattern end results. Just thought I would post this so you know I am not napping my life away Dick heppnerguy New Guy, Phantom Scroller, GrampaJim and 1 other 4 Quote

heppnerguy Posted February 1, 2016 Author Report Posted February 1, 2016 One thing that I enjoy about scrolling is being able to do some simple yet well designed patterns like this one. I love the almost instant gratification from those patterns. They also are the easy sales pieces because you do not have to charge much for them. This type pattern often sells almost as fast as I post them. It is these easy but nice patterns that keep my surplus money always in my drawer for supplies Dick heppnerguy Quote

kebmo576 Posted February 5, 2016 Report Posted February 5, 2016 Very nice. I am new to the forum and have a question about the technique. How is the back (the red part) made. Is it the same size and material as the rest of the box and just painted and glued on? or is it recessed somehow? heppnerguy 1 Quote
Dave Monk Posted February 6, 2016 Report Posted February 6, 2016 Dick, sure glad you're not napping. I really like your project. dave Quote
heppnerguy Posted February 6, 2016 Author Report Posted February 6, 2016 Very nice. I am new to the forum and have a question about the technique. How is the back (the red part) made. Is it the same size and material as the rest of the box and just painted and glued on? or is it recessed somehow? A simple answer to this question, but I am glad you asked. It is these questions that sometimes answers the same question someone else was wondering and leads to us all learning something new at times. The red is a painted backer board that is light colored board is glued to.the backer board. There is nothing that is not just a flat piece of wood, meaning there are only 2 flat boards and the pattern gives the illusion that it is somehow standing out from the heart. If you like this pattern you can find them for downloads at www.scrollsawartist.com she has some free patterns on her sight that you may enjoy downloading and cutting as well as a wealth of beautiful patterns you can purchase and download in a minute or so.
