decker7
Hello everyone, I live in Nottingham Uk just over 40 years ago I cut a few small things on a hand fret saw, Then a gap of over 40 years. In 2012 while on holiday I seen a small electric powered Fret saw. I did not know they existed, went home and shortly after bought a cheap fret saw for £26 on ebay, just to try it out. I liked it and soon got excaliber 21 and have been happily cutting since then. Rob Roy, Docupton and amazingkevin

rjR
You are joining an international group of oddballs, misfits and who knows what else is deviant about us! A Happy aboard and enjoy the ride! Some of us have been making sawdust quite a while! Occasionally we even get something decent from it! I enjoy making the strange and unusual and even a few more common things too. I happily share any of my own designed " sort -of-patterns" LarryEA

heppnerguy
a big welcome from me too, Declan. This is a place where you will soon feel like you are a part of a huge family because if you come back often so we can get to know each other, you will find that you are in a family of very friendly and happy and generous people. If you have any questions, just ask. If you want to learn how to make patterns for yourself, go to the 'University' tab farther down in the forum. If you do not think pattern making is for you, go to the free pattern section, (all are free) and download some and cut them for yourself. Glad you are with us. hope I can say the same thing come summer Dick heppnerguy

Malcolm161
Hiya Decker, welcome to SSV. I'm not so far from you, just south of Birmingham and a new member myself. I had a small 16" Record scrollsaw until justr recently when I sold it with the idea of buying an Excalibur EX16 or 21, but on the same day as the sale, the Excaliburs were withdrawn by Axminster to be re-branded as Axminster Ex16-21 & 30 Trade and launched later this month. There will be a couple of small changes, the work holdown/foot is changing as is the power switch, which are discribed as improvements? So I'm waiting for the launch 17th February to have a look-see. Not done a lot of scrolling, but would like to start Intarsia and seeif I can make the grade of some of the guys on this site, Good luck and keep in touch.
