tonylumps
i just received my used Hegner Multimax that I won on Ebay.It did not survive the trip to well.i decided to go over the entire saw this week. The fan housing was pushed in,rubbing the motor fan. The top and bottom arms were misaligned. After taking care of those problems i ordered a a few parts from Advanced mach. The saw is now like new.So decided to touch up some of the scratches after I fixed the fan housing.Low and behold the Paint I have for my Kubota Tractor matches perfectly. So if anyone that wants to touch up there Hegner.A Kubota dealer for a rattle can will do it. stoney, Jim Finn and LarryEA

Sycamore67
I love my Hegner and is a solid machine. Even better is that you can easily get parts. If I did fret work, it would not be my choice but for cutting thicker wood is great. Good Luck with it. amazingkevin
Scrappile
It is some taking getting use to for me, especially after doing detail fret work with the Excalibur. Do not give up, it is a work horse and the more I get use to it and work with it the more I like it. Like Sycamore67 stated, not for smaller, real detailed fretwork, but works well on large portraits, check out Charles Dearing's work. I think you will like it. Hegner should break down and modernize it with easy blade holders top and bottom and eliminate the tool requirement, but it is do able as is. Good to know about the paint. I have a place on the motor where the paint has come off. I bought a demo model. Edited February 9, 2016 by Scrappile amazingkevin
orangeman
Well I will never ever buy a saw and have it shipped either new or used. A disaster. First one was a Hawk which I had to send back at my expense because of excessive vibration. Then I bought a Hegner. Should have sent that back too but I didn't for some reason. I think it must have gotten bent in the shipping process because cutting puzzles is a hit or miss situation. It is difficult to get it tuned and stay tuned. I'll only buy locally from now on so I can return it if needed.
tvman44
Don't know why but I thought Hegners were red? That is what I get for thinking.
Lucky2
To get a paint match to any color all you need to do, is take a paint chip to most automotive parts suppliers that sell paint. They can match colors the same way as Walmart can, all they have to do is scan it. Len

That is what I thought until I started spraying .Then I looked at my tractor about 5'away.

Yep the the main arms was bent to one side when I checked the blade with a small square.I just forced it back over a little at a time.It worked I don,t think you could do that with any other saw without breaking something
