Scrappile
I did a stacked cut of the Viking II picture and was trying to figure out a different method of framing it (by the way, I lost out on the frame I showed in the first post, my wife said no to using that frame). Anyway this what I tried on the second copy. I just finished it the MS is not even dry from removing the patterns I used to do the frame cutting. I can't decided if I like it or not. Just wanted some honest opinions' Give it to me I can take it. I don't cry easily, ,,, well not too easily.. Ron Johnson
You' ve done a fabulous job cutting Paul and my preference would be a frame. If no frame than I would router an edge. Prior to cutting of course. Now show me the tears ... Lol Lucky2
Rob
I reckon you've hit on a great idea there. No need for a frame in my opinion. Rob
wombatie
I prefer it framed. but its going to look good no matter what you do with it. Marg
lawson56
Just me,I Love it.I have never framed any of my work, and received no complaints.I have used the router on some plaques.Leave it as is, Is My Vote
Dan
Hey Paul, it looks great. Maybe you could cut a 3/4" walnut slab sized to create an inch border around the fretwork. Maybe even put a 1/2" bevel on it. That may give it a nice frame, just not the traditional frame.
Scrolling Steve
Looking good as is Paul !.....I think the border you cut frames it fine!
TripleJScroller
I love the border, I think it adds a nice touch. That being said I'd still put it in a frame as well, but it does look fine without it. Josh
lineman
I think it looks great with the border. Good work....I would leave as is.
Wilson142
I really like it. I think that's the nicest Viking I have seen and being from Minneapolis originally, I've seen more than my fair share of Viking images.

Scrappile
Thanks for the inputs. I will leave this copy, and make a frame for the other, when I get my table saw fixed.
penquin
Like Dan's idea. Use a wood a inch larger than the cutting all around so it is a half inch bigger everywhere. Than put a half round or an edge of your choice on it and center the cutting on it and go with it. I would paint it black. Sort of a self framing way to go. The cutting is outstanding and I really like the corner work you did. Great work. jim penquin
heppnerguy
I like this one better than a frame. but then it looks like I am not with the majority, but then, as you know, I am a little weird. OK a lot weird. I think this is fabulous Dick heppnerguy
Lucky2
I agree wholeheartedly with what Ron Johnson has stated. To me, a cutting such as this should always be framed, or, done on a natural edge blank. It's a much to classy cutting, not to be be enhanced with a perfect frame.
