First Portrait Pattern an Cutting

This is my first attempt.  Had an old piece of Birch ply laying around and decided  to take a stab at a portrait of my grandson. Next time I will try it on Baltic Birch. The veneer did not stay on very well. Hopefully next time it will work better. dave

Dave, this piece looks great, the only thing I would do differently, is I'd center it on the piece of wood. You're going to be quite the pattern maker, seeing as how this one is your first. Personally, I don't think it could be improved upon.

That is spot on, perfect pattern,      my only criticism is you need to also keep in mind the marking or grain on the wood that you use, your grandson looks to have a large growth next to his mouth, I think it would have looked better with the wood the other way around.        Keep up the great work Dave.

Well done. That's exactly how I got hooked on scrolling portraits. I tried one of my grandson, and it turned out nice. Ever since then, I have been addicted and loving it.
