Bill WIlson
While I'm not new here, it's been sometime since I last participated much, so maybe this has been addressed and I missed it. I can't seen to figure out how the "Quote" function works. I presumed that when I hit the quote button on a post, my reply would attach to that post. When I try it, I only get the standard reply screen and I don't see the quoted post in my preview. I see others are able to quote, so I presume the functionality works and I'm missing something simple. What am I doing wrong? Thanks! amazingkevin
On others posts you can quote what was said ,not on your own,If i'm correct. Travis
When you hit the quote button, it copies the message from the post you're quoting into your reply window at the bottom of the screen. You can add your response below the quote. When you hit the Post button, your response (with included quote) show up at the bottom of the thread. Does that answer your question? Or does the Quote button just not work?
Bill WIlson
I'm trying to quote another member's post. I hit the Quote button and get only the standard reply pane. If I continue and preview my reply, I do not see the quoted post included, just my reply.

Bill WIlson
Yea, that's the weird thing. I see it being used regularly, but for some reason I can't seem to make it work for me. I use similar features on other forums all the time. They each can be a little different. It's gotta be something stupid simple that I'm doing wrong. I just hoped I could figure it out before someone pointed it out to me.
Travis
That feature relies on Java. Perhaps your Java is turned off? What internet browser are you using?

Travis
That could be part of the problem. In general, Internet Explorer isn't a very good web browser. It has a lot of compatibility problems. I usually recommend either Google Chrome or Firefox. Both are outstanding web browsers. I, personally, prefer Google Chrome. But I use Firefox quite a bit too. Bill WIlson
I'm using Firefox on the PC at home. I'll have to check it out. Travis

Well apparently the browser on the other PC is the problem. Works as advertised on Firefox. Thanks. Good to know I'm not entirely clueless. Ninuninu
Hi Bill. I use Explorer too and the way I use the quote function is to right click on the button and then on open in new tab. Hey presto it works fine then. Hope this works. Tony
