daveww1 Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 I got a calendar from KME who is a local mfg. of fire trucks, each page has a scale drawing of a truck on the back of the page. I took the calendar to a copy shop and had them enlarge it until the wheels I had just fit the wheels on the drawing. The truck is made from poplar, for the roll up doors I used 1/8" dowels and diluted red paint for the stain. I made 3 of them, kept one for myself, gave one to our local volunteer fire dept. and the last one was given to the owner of KME. Lucky2, New Guy, Fab4 and 5 others 8 Quote

rjR Posted February 25, 2016 Report Posted February 25, 2016 GREAT! Work! I like that you gave one to the local department! The volunteer ones are mostly unappreciated! Quote

Scrappile Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 You did an outstanding job on the fire truck. Models are fun to built, challenging and time consuming. Very satisfying. Quote
Jim McDonald Posted February 26, 2016 Report Posted February 26, 2016 Being an old fireman, I appreciate ALL fire equipment: pumpers, rescue wagons, ladder trucks, specialty vehicles. Never pumped any KME equipment, but this model looks great. Quote
