Rubsterwine
Does anyone know where I can find a list of domestic woods that tells if they change color with aging or basically maintain their color. I found a list of about 40 different woods but they are mostly inported woods, I am looking at Aspen, Basswood, Butternut, Chestnut, Poplar, Cedar, Maple, Ash, Cherry, Walnut, Holly, Mahogany, Red Oak, White Oak, Birch, Locust, Elm, Box Elder, Hickory, Thank You amazingkevin

Dave Monk
A lot will depend on the amount of sunlight they are in. Cherry and Red Oak definatley changes with age At least on floors . dave
Lucky2
Tom, I know of no such list, but, from experience I can tell you that most if not all of the woods you've listed will change color over time. A lot of time, the finish you use can affect the amount of color it changes. Len
NC Scroller
From my own experience I can tell you the following will change color over time. How much and how fast is a factor of how much UV light it is exposed to.Poplar,Cedar,Cherry,Holly,Red Oak,Box ElderI do not have enough experience with the others to judge. WayneMahler
I have a wood selection chart. Not sure if it copyrighted or not. No magazine or other markers on it. So on the safer side, search for this subject (google) and it should come up. I do know it is pretty extensive.

Rubsterwine
Thank you to everyone who replied, I have been using the wood database which is a excellent site but they don't mention the aging of all the woods. I do intarsia and would like the domestic wood that would not change drastically after I have done a project. Thank You again for all the help.
