Gonzo
Hello to all. I am wondering if any of you have the Dremel Rotary Work Station, 220-01. In theory, this looks like it could be right up our alley for drilling small holes for fret work. If you do have one, what is your opinion of this tool? Lucky2
Sorry, can't help, but I do own the Dremel plunge router attachment. It works great for drilling the holes for scrolling. Len
JustLarry
Also have the dremel w/plunge router attachment. It works great for me and there is no upright to limit how far onto the wood I can drill. Larry oneleggimp
Sparkey
I just use the Dremel tool hand held to drill.
firstmuller
I have the older all metal version and it works good. The hardest thing is holding the spindle lock, drill bit in and tightening the chuck. I have a t chuck that is like a drill key-less chuck. Ron Johnson
Purchased the Dremel work station awhile ago and like it very much. Especially the price and added features. Works just as well as the regular Dremel drill press that I used for many years. The only feature I miss on the work station is the table. I wouldn't be without this drill press and flex shaft for drilling. I think you'll find the work station worth every penny.
hotshot
I have this, and love it, however, I'm working on very small stuff, usually drilling coins. So, here is the deal, from the bit to the bar is 4", which means, if you cut something that is 12" by 12", you won't be able to reach that middle 4 inches to drill. So, the plunge router accessory might be better for you if you are doing bigger pieces. If you have a Dremel, my favorite add-on is the Dremel chuck. It quickly centers the bits, and I've tried very very small bits without issue.: http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-4486-MultiPro-Keyless-Chuck/dp/B0000302ZV/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1456807701&sr=8-1&keywords=dremel+chuck Edited March 1, 2016 by hotshot

Gonzo
Thank you to all who gave their opinion on this topic. Especially to Hotshot for pointing out the 4" maximum depth. I am going to check into this tool and also the plunge router. Will let you all know.
Jim Finn
I have the "Hobby Pro" version of this. I use it as a radial drill press to drill holes at 6° angle for doing linlay. Works great for me.
