heppnerguy Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I chose this pattern because my daughter is big into horses and also has quite a bit of my scroll work and is always asking for more. I started this one because i not only liked the pattern but i saw that the cuts were going to be quite delicate in spots and was a perfect 'spiral blade' practice piece for me. I ended up mounting it on a piece of what I believe is Black Walnut that I had hanging around for a long time and I thought it would be perfect for this one. I have not used this type of backing on any of my previous things and I liked the way it came out. I think she will like it also Dick heppnerguy Scrollcrazy, New Guy, oldhudson and 2 others 5 Quote

Scrappile Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 Mighty pretty Dick. I really like the backing that way. Great cutting. She is going to love it. I am working on another one using my last piece of Basswood. I have been using the 2/0 PS straight blade for most of it. Last evening I put in my 3/0 spiral to do some thin lines, and oh my, it was like renewing an acquaintance with an old friend! I use the spiral the rest of the evening. It just make more since to me than swing that piece of wood all over. heppnerguy 1 Quote
