breadstick Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Found you guys in a search for scrolling forums. I started using scroll saws in shop class in high school and fell out of it for a lot of years after graduation. My former boss did intarsia patterns and I remembered how much I enjoyed doing it, so I bought a saw about a month ago. Here is the most recent project I finished for another previous boss. Scrappile Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 So glad you signed up. Welcome. Nice cutting you have there. I've just started doing bark edged wood, basswood, and I'm really enjoying it. So much so I just today added a riser block to my band saw so I can start resawing some thicker wood down to the thickness I like. heppnerguy and Falcon 2 Quote
LarryEA Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Nicely done and welcome. My favorite wood for scrolling is that which has the live edge. There are many scrollers here who enjoy cutting Native Americans. Quote

breadstick Posted March 9, 2016 Author Report Posted March 9, 2016 Thank you all for the kind words. I should have given more info on this piece. It's about 15 inches tall and about 10 wide. Not sure what type of wood, but it's really soft. The guy at the sawmill gave me a few pieces like this that he can't use because of the knot. The pattern is from arpop. If it's not against the rules, I can post the pattern in the pattern section here. Also, I'm in southern Illinois in a small town called Mascoutah. Scrolling along with Susan 1 Quote
