Dave Monk
I would like to thank Laura Soffer for allowing me to use one of her gorgeous photos to create a hummingbird scroll saw portrait. The outside of the frame measures 15 1/2" x 12 1/2'. The portrait is cut from 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood and finished natural. I used a 1/4 underlayment painted black for a backer. The fame I made from poplar, painted flat black and topped with 2 two coats of matte clear. dave Edited March 12, 2016 by Dave Monk Birchbark, Smudger, lawson56 and 3 others

Lucky2
Dave, that is an outstanding cutting, you drew a perfect pattern from the pic. It is an amazing close-up picture of a hummer also, it's easy to see why you would want to use it for a pattern. Len Dave Monk

Birchbark
Nice cutting and frame. I like it. I had never thought to use a quarter of my underwear painted black for a backer, but i like the way you're thinking... I like different. "I used a 1/4 undergarment painted black for a backer."
