We are getting ready to relocate to your fine state in or around the Knoxville area. Maybe we'll be neighbors. Hey Ray, I saw your post with question for Montserrat - and wanted to tell you she has her location on the members map. If you go to her profile page, and click on the map there you can see she is more in middle TN area - south of Nashville - close to Murfreesboro, TN so about 4 hours are so from Knoxville area based on looking at that map location. Carlxxxx
I have a Excalibur ex21 just bought . I works good but at full speed vibrates but at 85 % power no vibration. Should I tighten all Allen head bolt up real tight or leave them the way from factory?

It's possible to over tighten. There are many other things that can cause vibration. Is it firmly mounted? How old is it? It might need general tear down for inspection and lubrication. Where was it made? If Chinese, that may be part of the problem. Canada & Taiwan were the best saws. The biggest problem is dry bearing/sleeves. We really need more info and maybe some pics. I've got two EX's that don't vibrate.
Ray Rivard
The blade tightening thumb screw on my Excalibur just stripped out. Has anyone ever repaired this with a Heli-coil, M-6 thread, I believe. Seems like it might be a less expensive fix than whole mounting unit with a Pegus block.. Maybe so but if it doesn't work out, it's money down the drain. Bite the bullet and buy the Pegas clamp set. They are so much better. Less vibration because less weight and the flip lever is better. Everything about them is better than the original design. You won't be disappointed except for when your credit card bill comes in. After that, smooth sailing. This rubber band has been in place for well over a year and the knob has not moved a bit. Simple-Easy- No Cost fix = Priceless This worked for a long time. I recently had to replace the rubber band and am now back in business! kmmcrafts and OCtoolguy
ike
I had blade slipping on my ex20 so I changed to the pegas clamps . the best $100 spent . no slipping, I use Olson match blades and don't even have to sand the ends.
