Birchbark
I just posted a sheep puzzle pattern. I don't know if we have many puzzle cutters in the group, but wanted to make one. My first question, is there any point in making a puzzle Pattern, or do most people like to just free hand them? Second, Is the tab style i drew going to be cuttable? I drew the tab style like in the picture for style "B" below. Third, if i do make another puzzle pattern, what style of tab would be preferred? A,B,or C? Actually, any puzzle input would be appreciated. Thanks for the comments, Russell Edited March 17, 2016 by Birchbark
Chachi111769
I have cut a few for the grandkids I think A is the prefered by most but when I cut mine I did them like C cause they seemed to fit tighter for me but I think you should make your own so it will be "your's" and anyone who cuts one will know you made the pattern... just my Opinion Though
danny
Hey....I have cut MANY DIFFERENT shapes and sizes of JIGSAW PUZZLES in my time. Always designed my own. Was a lot of fun for a long, long while. Tried to sell at a Craft Show.... Lots of lookers and Questioners, but not many sold. Cry. After several more years with trying to sell ....with not much luck.... one here and one there. I still have 2 full boxes 11x17 paper type full of them. Cry.cry.... Not very popular around here I guess. I prefer type A as the NORMAL SHAPE, but I have used both of your other shapes. Type C will interlock the best for a tighter fit. MAKE SURE YOUR TABLE IS....AT THE 90 DEGREE MARK. Just another 2 cents worth.........Danny :+} Birchbark and amazingkevin

Lucky2
Russell, I enjoy cutting puzzles, I cut them just for display purposes. Personally, I like the "b" style as my first choice, but, the "a" is a very close second. I would never choose the "c" style, there's to many sharp degree corners. Phantom Scroller
I like to attach a bit of scrap on top of the picture draw grid lines and cut my own shapes you also get a smoother cut on the puzzle picture as any defects are on the top scrap piece. MrsN
I typically freehand puzzle pieces. Usually something like A but with a fatter top so they interlock just a bit better.
Birchbark
Thank you all for the input, i guess that's why there aren't many puzzles in the Pattern Library. Glad i asked, and glad i got so many great comments Thanks Russell
