Denny Knappen
I finished this project on Monday, March 21st. It is a pattern by Lora S. Irish and found in SWWC Spring 2005 issue #18. The wood is walnut 1/2" for the upright and 3/4" for the base. It measures 6 1/2" high and 11" long at the base. I used FD New Spiral #3 for most of the cuts. I have a hard time using spirals on straight lines, so I used FD UR #3 on the base. There is on coat of Tung Oil Finish and two coats of spray Shellac. A fun easy project. Comments welcome. Denny Knappen
I like using flat blades on straight lines, more control.
Denny Knappen
With all the twists and turns on the inner cuts, I prefer spirals.
