The last project I showed was repairing a brain fart with an inlay. Actually, I have had a couple of them lately. I liked the outcome enough I thought I would do an inlay on purpose this time. I haven't sold any pieces yet and I question if the inlay will add enough in value to pay for the time and materials.  Of coarse most of what we do is for our own satisfaction, enjoyment and ego. This plaque measures 8" x 16". It is 5/8" white oak with a walnut inlay. I used a 1/8 Masonite backer. dave

The plaque and inlay is 5/8 thick. My angle was a bit steep so the inlay did not go all the way in but it really didn't matter because I covered the back with a backer. The biggest problem I have is that I need to buy a smaller drill to hold the tiny drill bits. Thanks for all the nice comments. dave
