penquin
Looks super, love the red color stain on the backer, shows some grain but still gives you good contrast. Thanks for sharing it. jim penquin

Lucky2
Tony, the cutting is amazing, I don't like that I can see the heads of the nails you used. On something like this piece, if I need to use nails to hold things together. I usually find an inconspicuous place to place them, if I can't find one I place them to compliment the cutting. Try to find a place to place them that evens them out, like one in each corner or halfway between the top and bottom of the cutting. They have to be placed in a way that doesn't look as if they were just used to hold things together. This is just my opinion and the way I do things, you're no obligated to do as I suggest. heppnerguy
Tony, you did a great job cutting this and the contrast on it is perfect. Most people try to always find something complimentary to post about others work. No one wants another to feel like what they do is not up to snuff. This being said, I would also like to add that the comments that Len made is to be taken as a constructive insight. I know that Len does make these comments and i always appreciate it when he does so because he looks at the posts carefully and offers advice that I always find to be helpful. My guess is that the main pieces may have had a small warp in it so you added the nails to hold it down. or the backer board was a little warped and hence the same fix. In the future i would recommend that you glue the entire piece and then clamp it instead of using nails. Dick heppnerguy
spirithorse
Hi, Denny and Dave, I looked around a bit and found the pattern is a Sue Mey design. You should see it in this link (I hope!) http://www.scrollsawartist.com/?subcats=Y&status=A&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&match=any&search_performed=Y&q=wedding&dispatch=&dispatch=products.search#ty;pagination_contents;/index.php?subcats=Y&status=A&pshort=Y&pfull=Y&pname=Y&pkeywords=Y&match=any&search_performed=Y&q=wedding&dispatch=products.search&page=3God Bless! Len len, your spot on, those nails were all i had at the time, and regreted using them almost as soon as i put them in,they were mainly used too pin the 2 layers together while it was in the clamps,.....lesson learnt....must take more time clamping up in future Lucky2

Dick heppnerguy i did glue the piece down,i just used the nail so the 2 pieces wouldnt slip, before i squeezed the clamps, i know i regret it now,we learn by our mistakes
