Welcome Sign

When my Dad passed 2 years ago, my Niece (and God Daughter) and her husband "bought" my Dad's house from my Sister (her Mom) and me.  My Dad lived there for over 40 years and it needed a facelift.

The house recently got new siding, a new roof, new windows, front steps, deck, etc...

I wanted to do something for them to hang that welcomes family and friends to their house. I came up with the following "welcome" sign. It's their last name along the side, the "WELCOME" is individual letters, wired together through small eyelets on both sides of each letter.

Overall size is 24" x 8" x 1/2" Red Oak with coats of BLO and VAR poly. I haven't given it to them yet as I just finished it up today. I want to wrap it and give it to them as a present once the house reno is done.

My Wife loved the way it came out so - I'll be making another one soon for us !!  :)

My Dad would be proud that I made that and didn't use any duct tape  :)  (he had a penchant for using duct tape for most things that need to be fixed.. Hahahaha....)

Thanks for looking

One pic of the sign upright the other, laying flat on a table..
