woodduck Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Must thank Neptun again for one of his patterns. This was cut using 3/0 Spirals & is in a A4 frame, the timber is 1/4" Marine Ply.I don't think I could ever sell this as I have put too much time & effort into it.Think i might look for a different frame that suits it a bit better. Dave Monk Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Great pattern and cutting. I agree with you thought on the frame. dave woodduck 1 Quote

Ron Johnson Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Totally Awesome Cutting of a beautiful pattern Peter. I agree with you that it would be hard to let go, especially putting so much time and effort into it. I stack cut most portraits for the simple reason I have one in my possession and at least two for sale or gifts. woodduck and heppnerguy 2 Quote
Lucky2 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 (edited) Peter, that is an outstanding cutting, I do agree with you though, it needs a better suited frame. On this type of cutting, I always stack cut them. It's a shame to do all that work, and end up with only one copy. Len Edited April 28, 2016 by Lucky2 woodduck 1 Quote
amazingkevin Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Arrowheads, fish and bears on a frame will go nicely with it.Good looking cutting. woodduck and heppnerguy 2 Quote

ChelCass Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 You could paint the frame and then add the items Kevin mentioned. Great cutting. woodduck 1 Quote
Gordster Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 Fantastic cutting on a fantastic pattern... I think a dark colored frame would set off completely.Maybe a dark walnut or similar. woodduck 1 Quote
daveww1 Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 very nice but it does need a better frame woodduck 1 Quote
Kris Martinson Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 I think you did an awesome job on the cutting, and I love your subject choice. I agree with the group about the frame. It is such a nice project, it deserves a nicer frame....easy fix. woodduck 1 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted April 28, 2016 Report Posted April 28, 2016 As a framer, I will agree with everyone on the frame. The cutting is something special. As a scroller, I know how much time was put into the project. I am new to the forum, who is Neptun? woodduck 1 Quote

heppnerguy Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Peter, I was happy to see the large array of pattern cutting, you do. This one is done very nicely. I would not hesitate to put it up for sale,if I had cut it, only because if some one else enjoyed it as much as I did myself, it would be worth it to me to have it in someone else's home. Next time, stack cut, then, no problem letting it go Dick heppnerguy Quote

ike Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 (edited) Keep it you have too much work in it, will never get out of it what you put in it. great cutting. I never make a picture with out stack cutting it, use at least 3 pieces. some times one piece is bad with it chipping , you were lucky on that one. Edited April 29, 2016 by ike woodduck 1 Quote
penquin Posted April 29, 2016 Report Posted April 29, 2016 Great job on the cutting of this wonderful pattern. It came out great. Sort of agree with you a different frame may suit it better. Maybe something in a dark natural color. It is your call but it looks super. jim penquin Quote

wombatie Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 Wow that is excellent. In future when you are doing one so detailed stack cut a couple extra, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. The second frame is a great improvement. Great work Peter. Marg Quote
kywoodmaster Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 Love the cutting. Second frame definitely better Quote
