I have been using a Porter Cable pancake compressor. Small, oil less and compact. It is noisy when it runs but does the job well. You can them at the big box stores as well as online. I believe it's a 6 gallon capacity and has 2 outlets and a regulator. Hope this helps some.

I used an aquarem air pump for a long time, most scroll saws don't have a very good pump, I now have 2 DW 788 saws and have no problem with the air on either

The thing with compressors is that once you have one, you tend to find all sorts of other uses for it.  I too just wanted something to use to blow dust off of stuff and maybe air up a tire or two.  I ended up with a portable one that is between 20 & 25 gallon capacity.  I can't recall the brand at the moment.  I think it may be Campbell Hausfield, but it could be a Craftsman.  I'm not necessarily recommending it.  My recommendation is to get the biggest one that fits your budget and the available space.  Mine isn't big, by any stretch, but it has enough capacity for me to run air nailers, spray guns and some other air powered tools.  While I wouldn't mind a bigger one, I like the portability, but I also have a pancake compressor that I'll take with me when working on the kid's houses, that's primarily used for the nail guns.  I wouldn't want to use it for my general shop tasks, even just blowing dust around.  It is even noisier than my larger compressor and runs a lot more often, under those conditions.

From one Larry to another Larry - Welcome!

I have the 6 gallon 150psi Porter Cable pancake compressor.  Had it for about six years.  Does everything I need a compressor for.  Blowing off saw dust, air tires, drying, even use it on framing nail gun.  I do need to let it catch up when using the nail gun.  But that is okay because I need to catch up every once in awhile when using the gun, also.

I have a 30 gallon  air tank which had a bad motor .I salvaged an old 110 volt ice machine compressor and plumbed it in.Silent as can be.If you just need air to blow off stuff this will work. All the safety gizmo's from the real compressor are still functioning.Takes a while to fill up .I just don't like compressor noise.

I have a six gallon oil less. When I bought it I thought it would be big enough. I don't use it a lot but when I do I wish it was bigger. It is also very loud. I hope to upgrade to a 30 gallon belt driven to get rid of a lot of the noise.
