tdcuda
hi i need to buy a small drill dress can anyone help me out whats a good drill to bye what size thanks
Dan
If I was to buy one just for fretwork, I'd get a cordless dremel tool and the drill press stand. If you plan to do more with it, get one with a large working surface. I have a Delta benchtop drill press I picked up second hand. I only have about an 8" depth and that is a real drawback. That's why the Dremel is my 2 cents. Dan
amazingkevin
Your right about that DAN .The more i get into scrolling i find that just a drill press is'nt a cure all for this type work .I have many dremils and need to look into there hand held press soon. The $99 buck drill press is what i use from the home tool supplys depot ,or lowes.Harbor freight is a good low price option. Vector01
I thought of a drill press for drilling myself. Unfortunately I couldn't find a traditional benchtop that was small enough (space issue). I ended up buying the Dremel plunge router attachment which works fine for what I need. Dremel also has a "work station" attachment that you can adjust for "angle" drilling. http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Attachments ... pid=220-
Kepy
I have the Delta 12" benchtop with variable speed and love it. I also have a large floor model that I rarely use and the Dremel for holes that I forgot to drill. That way I don't have to get off my stool. Messman
Hey Kepy you could always bring that floor model down to me, I will make sure it gets some use. As a mater of fact it would have been real handy to have had for the 3-in-1 bed I am building.

Kepy
Hey Chris, I didn't say that I never use it only not as often right now. It is an old Craftsman with a really long stroke that I bought from a woodshop going out of business. It is really too heavy to transport. Kepy
More power to you Chris. I also believe in not allowing any tool to go to waste. I still have my first scrolling jigsaw that I bought used in the 70's. I also have an old B&D 3 wheel bandsaw that was worseless until I converted it to a sander by having some belts made for it.
