a Trio of Fairies

So here is my latest project and I don't like it at all. Here is my thoughts on how to make it look better.
1)  sand down the black ovals, put them back to the original wood and finish them in boiled linseed oil like the frame

 

2) change the center silver background to gold like the 2 outer ones

What does anyone think? or If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated, I'm finding that one of the hardest things for me is figuring out how to finish something, what finishes go well with each other...ugh

Myself I would change the Silver one to Gold.The Fairy can't be seen that well.The rest look Fantastic   I would change them or the background or the frame.

Nice.  I like the way you handled that moon fairy.  If you change that to gold, it would look better tho.  Thanks for posting a picture for us.

Very nicely done with one small change.  On the middle one like has been suggested change the background OR the fairy to gold it will show better.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

The cutting part looks great Laust, but, the fairy in the middle one is very hard to see. I'm not sure of what I'd do, but, a change is needed. Either the silver color needs to be changed, or some color has to be added to the fairy to make her more noticable.

I would change the center to gold.  But I don't think that the frame works to well either maybe you could try a silver frame.  The original idea was not a bad one and your cuttings are fantastic, so don't be disheartened.
