penquin Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 Got a few more done and wanted to share. The first is one I call "Cards anyone" Pattern is by Janevski as well as the Prince pattern is his also. What a difference in work. The number of cuts in one over the other was huge but both I think really display the subject very well. Had fun doing both. Now we need one for the Spades and Clubs. The vultures is one I call "Dinner Time" and it is from a drawing I saw in a booth at the LA Book festival this year. This artist always displays and I really like his stuff so this year I asked if I could do one of his drawing in wood. Sent him a few photo's of what I do and he said to go ahead and select whatever one I wanted. Picked this one just like it a lot. Asked Don at Oldcrow scrollworks to help out on the pattern and he came through like the champ he is. This is the results. Send the artist a photo of it and he is really excited. Said he sold the original and only has prints left of it and now he can have a original in a different media of it for himself. I told him if he gave me permission to do one I would give him a cutting. Sorry for the long story. The last one is a custom sign a lady asked for at a fair I did. She wanted the wording in German for it. Asked for the Quails and mountains. JIm penquuin lawson56, Paul hd, neptun and 4 others 7 Quote

Lucky2 Posted June 8, 2016 Report Posted June 8, 2016 Jim, when your posting pics like these that look so good, you never need to apoligize for being long winded. I found your explanation on each of them, to be very interesting. Len Quote
