Phantom Scroller Posted June 9, 2016 Report Share Posted June 9, 2016 Finished this one today for a neighbour made from oak letters devinne swash font and ferns then painted green they wanted light background had plenty of mahogany,walnut,red oak but all to dark for a background. So they had to have pine, just had to give it a few coats of external vanish to protect it.Should last a few years as long as they keep it coated don't like using pine outdoors much wish I had some maple. Thanks Steve apparently more people die on Weekends in hospital than in the week they must be some sick individuals to check that. Roly Roly don't worry about week ends ,that's when drinkin and drugin are at it's worst in the bars with bar fights .I'm sure thats why the high numbers ,myself.I've heard good and bad about knee surgery's Good luck. Gordster Posted June 10, 2016 Report Share Posted June 10, 2016 Great job Roly...I have good luck with Pine here..I usually stain it first to color choice and then I use a couple of coats of spar varnish. I don't put spar on painted section,especially white as it turns the white kind of yellow. Good luck at hospital...Be like Kevin and get all the nurse's names and start cutting...
