Travis Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 For those who do portrait style cuttings, what project size do you prefer working in? I usually work 8x10" so I can use a pre-constructed frame. Quote
Christina Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 I haven't done any portrait style yet..........but I think I'd probably stick to standard frame sizes so I can use a purchased frame too. Christina Quote
The MediaBoy Posted February 19, 2009 Report Posted February 19, 2009 Travis, I generally prefer 11x14, but it depends on the complexity of the pattern. Fairly simple patterns with very few cuts tend to look better at 8x10. 11x14 is still a standard size, so off-the-shelf frames are easy to find. Quote
AirNationalGuardMom Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I usually stay with the 8x10 also. Linda Quote
Clayton717 Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I stay with the 8x10 as well. unless it has too many cuts then I go bigger. or if the customer requests it bigger. Quote
Papatch Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 A little late on the post, but I use 8.5 x 11 and 12x15. I like the 8.5x11 because I buy them pre-cut that way. I like the 12 x 15 because I have a printer that prints 11x17. I make my own frames. It took a little set up but now I can make frames pretty quickly. I made 12 frames for 8.5x11 today in about an hour and a half. Twelve frames for about $5 in materials, plus about $5 in clear spray. I enjoy doing it. Ed Sr. Quote

tracyguy Posted October 16, 2012 Report Posted October 16, 2012 8 x 10 is the size I usually do my portraits, but I am thinking of trying one bigger of my family. Quote
Dan Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 I like 11 x 14 frames and use matting. The final size of the pattern to fit is 8 x 10. Quote
