I recently finished this plaque for my nieces wedding.

All cut from reclaimed rimu as usual and finished with BLO.

Nicely done Rob, all three pieces look great. Could you please let me know what font you used for the wedding gift, I really like it.

I didn't keep a note of them but I think the surname Brougham is URW Bookman and the first names are Ave Fedan.

Rimu is a native New Zealand timber that was used extensively for furniture and house construction.  I buy broken old furniture or drawer boxes from our local recycling centre for most of my work and sometimes get lucky with beautiful pieces like this 4 foot by 1 foot board

which I picked up for $1 NZ or 70cents US.

 

I cut one of my Tui plaques from it

and have enough leftover to make another couple.
