ike
Has any body tried the Elmer's spray adhesive repositioning multi-purpose glue? My supplier has changed to this glue. IKE
WayneMahler
Do you have any of the big box stores close to you? They carry the 3M lines and a few others. I have no experience with Elmer's spray.

tvman44
I have not personally used it, but have read good reviews about it on some router sign making forums. If it works good with a router it should work good with a scroll saw. Edited July 8, 2016 by tvman44
bbofpp
I buy the Elmer's product by the case from Blick's. Look for coupons on the net. bb
ike
I have both Lowes and HD ,but they were so much higher than the other store that I was buying it from.
tvman44
I have been told that wallyworld carries it. I intend to buy some when ever I run out of the 3M #77 I have been using.
Gordster
Hi Ike...I use the Elmer brand...I find it very good.I just use a light spray and it holds well and cleans easy with mineral spirits.I get it here at Wal mart for about 7 bucks a can. ronniedev
Jim McDonald
Harbor Freight is now selling CRC spray. Going to try it this evening, but I have had good luck with other CRC chemicals in other interests.

SCROLLSAW703
I've been using the Elmer's spray glue for over a year, & it works great! A whole lot easier clean up, & the patterns come off better than w/the 3M spray. I use Elmer's wood glue in the shop instead titebond or the other fancy names, & get just as good, if not better results. Especially when I use it for projects that need waterproof glue. ronniedev
NC Scroller
It does not hold as well as M-77. I have experienced some lift off using it. To help prevent lift off you MUST apply the pattern immediately to the wood. Waiting even a minute it looses a lot of it's tack. amazingkevin
edward
I use 3M super 77 spray adhesive, little pricey but I like it. edward
vykus
I was looking for M77 and could not find it recently. I didn't get to all the stores as I needed some sort of spray adhesive so I bought another brand. Has anyone else noticed it missing from the shelves? I don't have a Lowes nearby so didn't check there.
bbofpp
3M 77 and Elmers are entirely different products and are used in different applications. 3M 77 is good for a permanent bond Elmers for a temporary bond, i.e. patterns on wood to be removed after cutting. bb
Lucky2
Ike, all I use is Elmer's spray adhesive, it's all I've used for years. I buy it at Wal-mart, and I've never had an issue with. Personally, I like it better than the 3M brand. Len

You can get through Amazon as well.
ronniedev
I normally use Elmer's, but I ran out, went to Walmart and ran across Krylon Spray Adhesive... Bought a can to try and so far it is working very good with no lift off. Will I go back to Elmer's? Don't know yet.
cmarsch
I have tried several of the "Temporary" adhesive sprays and was not happy with any of them. Hated having to get glue off the wood and the pattern lifting off. Switched to Blue painters tape and 3M-77 permanent adhesive. I don't see myself trying or switching to anything else anytime soon. No pattern lift, and Blue tape comes right off leaving no residue behind, even after being on for a few days on larger more detailed projects. ike
I tried blue tape and on fretwork it is a pain to work with, it takes for ever to remove it. so I bought a can of Elmer's spray glue and I applied a pattern and will try it tomorrow and let you know how it comes out. bronx
I'll through my two cents into the ante. I'm still on my first can of adhesive spray being a rookie and it's Loctite. I use it with the painters blue tape and all seems well so far. My next cutting i'm going to use it on just the pattern with no blue tape and use mineral spirits to take it off and see how that works. Loctite was the cheapest of the three products at Home Depot. Loctite is a solid glue company that hold lots of my screws in place (except the ones in my head) so I went with it and bingo it works. I cut out a box with six inch walls and put the pattern in that and stray away. This is the type I have. http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/a_cntct_high/overview/Loctite-Spray-Adhesive-High-Performance.htm
ike
I just finished 2 projects using Elmer s mu;lti purpose spray Adhesive which allows repositioning . the first one I used a light application of glue I had a couple places which it rose on me, but this were no problem. the second project I applied a little more glue , had no pattern rising but unlike the first project I had to apply mineral spirits to remove the pattern. I will keep using this spray. IKE
heppnerguy
One thing I found through the years that makes a big difference with patterns staying on the surface when cutting. I always sand my wood with 220 grit paper on my orbital sander. It matters not how well it comes presanded, then I wipe the wood with a clean rag, followed by the palm of my hand. After that, and only after that process, I aply my pattern directly to the wood. Even with very small and close fret work, I do not have pattern lift. I also used to use blue painters tape for years but I no longer find it necessary and the remaining pattern pieces almost fall off by theirselves with a little mineral spirits. I buy my spray on adhesive from Harbor Freight and I know what a lot of people think about Harbor Freight products, but in this case they carry a very well known brand,(CRC) and it usually sells for under $10 for a large can. LarryEA
There ya go.... answers all over the place. I use "Glad Press N Seal" or something like that and any brand spray glue is jist fine.
rdatelle
I use painters tape all the time and spray with 3m or whatever I have on hand and don't really have a problem taking the tape off when I'm done. Could take a little longer if you have a lot of letters to cut out which I'm doing now with the lords prayer.
