DWSUDEKUM
Very nicely done Marg. Love the wood choices. I had not heard of Jelutong before. I looked it up and it looks like it is one of the sources for the base latex that Malaysia uses. Any problems with finishes or tool gumming up? Thanks for sharing these with us. DW No DW there were no problem with it at all. It cuts like butter and the satin finish looks great. Down here they use Jelutong for carving and for making wooden rocking horses, so very versatile and also very light in weight. Marg
wombatie
tricky heart stand,You always were a great scroller.I see you've toned down a lot as your past projects were really intricate ,like the covered bridge etc.Keep them coming! I have cataracts in both eyes so it's a bit hard doing the intricate cuttings at the moment, even doing portraits is a bit of a pain because I can't always see the lines unless they are under my nose. Bob I love Blackheart Sassafras, it's my favorite wood. This piece was about 5 foot long when I got it, still have about 3 foot left. I'm hoping to get another piece with this type of grain running through it in September at the Melbourne Working With Wood Show.
