Dave Monk
I am a newbie at setting up at shows so I am learning as I go. I made some displays for my plaques this week. I am using shelving that I bought at a big box store and am putting them together with zip ties. With my projects being displayed better today I more than doubled my sales. dave MTCowpoke22, Loskoppie, bobscroll and 6 others

dgman
Good idea on the shelving! A couple of things that might help. First, set your tables at the back of your space. This invites the customer to come into your space rather than hanging out outside. It will also give you more space if you needed it. Second, the tables need covers like the guy next to you. It give your space a more finished look, and a place to hide your boxes and stuff. Scrolling Steve, Travis, Dave Monk and 1 other
Lucky2
Dave, that's a good looking set-up. Are the tables yours, or, were they supplied? Len Dave Monk

DWSUDEKUM
Great idea for maximizing the room that you have. Like dgman suggested however I would put a covering over the tables so that the totes are not seen. It looks cleaner and more inviting. Also something that has worked for me in the past is to make your display in such a way as the customer comes into your selling space where you can engage them for conversation and a sale. You are definitely on the right track however for your display. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW

NC Scroller
I agree with Dan. For "cheap" table covers I got black flat sheets from Walmart. You want a dark solid color. Twin size or full works well. Dave Monk

edward
Djman is right on what he says, you can buy table covers at a dollar store which they have different colors for the seasons, looks like you use picture hangers which is good. edward Dave Monk
Dave Monk
Edward, I put a saw tooth hanger on everything I make. I use a paper clip opened up to hook them to the shelving wire. dave

Jim Finn
I Like your display. It should work well for you. I have done a lot of shows and have tried many different displays over the past eight years. I find that putting your tables on the back of our space, "Inviting shoppers to come in" did not work for me. What I have noticed is that folks will not walk into your space to view your produce. They will just walk on by and may just glance at your whole display. When some folks do come into this space with the tables at the back they block the view of other shoppers of your product. This is especially true if you have only one ten foot space. I have had people just stand inside this space and visit with each other and not even look at my product , all the while blocking others from seeing my display. I put my tables to the front and ends like you have in your photo, only I rent two spaces and have a twenty foot long display plus ten feet on each end where possible. I have tried putting cloth covers on my tables but wind flips the cloth up over the top edge of the table covering some of the displayed product. I no longer use them. I just store my empty boxes under the tables. Yes, they can be viewed from the front, if you stand back a bit, but folks do not seem to care.. To sell more, your product has to be viewed by more people, so all this is no small concern. Dave Monk

meflick
Looks good. Glad it has helped to increase your sales. Great idea on repurposing the wire shelving. Your art looks awesome. I understand why it would be selling once customers could see it better on display. Hoping for continued increase in sales for you. thanks for sharing your pics on your setup. The key is to finding the setup that works best for you where you are. I am one of those people who tend to not want to "walk" into the booth area but "Browse" from afar until something catches my eye. With your display at the front, I would be able to "see" your work much better. Dave Monk
UH1PLT
Great idea with that shelving. I shared it with my wife for her booth and she thought having a table cloth over the sides would be good but suggested that hanging one or two of those shelves down over the front side would provide additional space for your art and it would help keep the wind from blowing it. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing your idea. Dave Monk
